vivii

Programme Notes

“How on earth am I supposed to pronounce the title of this piece?” You’re not gonna believe this… it should be pronounced as… ‘six-seven’ (6 7). Yes, it’s referencing that ‘brainrot’ meme, I’m sorry if you find that cringey.

The idea behind this ‘jazz pop fusion’ piece is to play around the ‘six-seven’ concept by considering the chord progression, ‘vi-vii’, comprising of two successive minor seventh chords on the sixth and seventh degree of a key respectively.

It started as a joke, purely for the composer’s own amusement. Somehow he then took the entire thing too seriously, and… this piece was then produced.

Hope you enjoy… I guess?
